Start Here

The first step is to clearly define your product category and concept. For example:

  • Skincare (cream, serum, toner, cleanser, mask)
  • Haircare (shampoo, conditioner, treatment)
  • Body care (body butter, lotion, scrub)
Specialty products (eye care, lip care, etc.)

You should also determine whether you already have a validated formulation.

An ingredient list alone is not a formulation. A proper formulation must include:

Basic Requirements

  • Exact ingredient percentages
  • Detailed processing/manufacturing method

Complementary Requirements

  • Stability compatibility
  • Preservative system validation
  • Safety and regulatory compliance

Possibly — but it must first be professionally evaluated in our lab.

Before production, we need to determine:

  • Has it ever been produced in a laboratory setting?
  • Has it passed stability testing?
  • Has it undergone microbial (preservative efficacy) testing?
  • Is it compliant with Canadian and/or international cosmetic regulations?

If these steps have not been completed, the formulation will need to be validated, adjusted, or professionally developed before moving into production.

Option 1: Use One of Our Archived Formulations

We maintain a library of professionally developed base formulations that can be

  • Customized
  • Tweaked
  • Adjusted to match your brand positioning

Our archived formulas are not sold identically to multiple brands. Each formula is modified to ensure brand differentiation and market uniqueness.

Option 2: Develop a Custom Formula from Scratch

If you prefer a fully unique product, we can develop one based on:

  • Your product brief
  • Target audience
  • Ingredient preferences
  • Texture and sensory requirements
  • Market positioning
  • Target retail price

You may also provide benchmark products you like for:

  • Absorption
  • Texture
  • Finish
  • Sensory profile

For example, you may like the texture of a hand lotion but want it adapted into a lightweight eye cream. For both options, we require a detailed product brief.

White label products are pre-formulated products sold identically to multiple brands with minimal or no modification.

We do not offer white label services. Our focus is on customized, differentiated formulations that protect brand identity and long-term positioning.

To begin development, we require:

  • A detailed product brief
  • Desired claims or features
  • Target retail price
  • Ingredient restrictions (if any)
  • Benchmark references (optional but recommended)

Yes. Fee is conditionally refundable

Formulation fees vary depending on product complexity, ingredient requirements, and regulatory scope.

A formal quote is provided after reviewing your product brief. Third-party testing costs (e.g., stability, microbial testing, challenge testing) are not included in this fee.

Usually not. The development process typically includes:

  1. Initial sample
  2. Client feedback
  3. Revisions
  4. Additional sampling (if required)

We continue refining the product until final approval is achieved.

Shipping costs for samples are the client’s responsibility.

Yes — this must be discussed in advance. Once approved, you may purchase your formulation. Formulation fees vary depending on product complexity, ingredient requirements, and regulatory scope.

Currently, we are not licensed to manufacture DIN (Drug Identification Number) products.

Yes. We are compliant with current MOCRA facility registration requirements.

To provide an accurate quotation, we require:

  • Final approved formulation
  • Production quantity
  • Complete packaging specifications/requirements (inner, outer and shipping packaging)

3,000 units per SKU. Lower quantities may be possible depending on:

  • Product type
  • Manufacturing process
  • Batch feasibility

Smaller quantities may significantly increase unit cost due to fixed setup and labor expenses.

Yes. Pilot batches may be produced subject to additional costs depending on product type and volume.
